Renovation Updates

Thank you for your ongoing patience during our major renovation and re-decorating works.

4th June

The new patio and path at the rear of the hall are nearly complete and just waiting for the edges to be finished off. Please be careful with dog paws at the edge of the path as there are a few holes that need to be filled in.

The committee room now has new foundations and concrete floor. Unfortunately, this room does remain out of use for the time being as the builders are starting work in there plastering the walls, replacing the ceiling, decorating, new lights and new curtains/ poles. When the floor is fully dry the wooden floor will be re-laid, sanded and lacquered to match the main hall floor.

In the main hall the old hessian top half of the walls has been covered in plasterboard but unfortunately this has resulted in an extremely bad echo in the hall that I am sure you will have all noticed! We are going to have suspended acoustic sound absorbing ceiling panels fitted as soon as possible to rectify the problem. The main hall will also be painted, new lights fitted and new curtains/poles. The toilets will  be getting a makeover too with new lights, paint and replacement plumbing in the gents to fix the leaky pipes. The rear porch floor will be tiled to match the front porch.

25th June

You will all be pleased to know that the main hall is nearly finished! New curtain poles and top blinds are going up today with the new curtains being fitted next week. New lights are going up this weekend hopefully. Acoustic sound absorption panels are due to be fitted early July.. this will rectify the awful echo problem!

The patio and new path to the rear porch are now complete.

Work will then start on tiling the rear porch floor, decorating the toilets, new plumbing in the gents, repairs to the flat roof over the kitchen which has sprung a leak and complete refurbishment of the committee room.

21st July

The main hall redecoration is complete now with the new acoustic sound absorbing panels fitted, new LED strip lights, new spot lights and new curtains/poles. We hope you like the fresh new look!

The builder is going to be working in the committee room this week, decorating etc. The flat roof leak above the kitchen has now been repaired so we can get on with fixing the wall in the gent’s toilet that damaged by the leak. There will also be new pipe work for the gents urinals as the old pipes are leaking.
